Goodwill NYNJ Launches First Outlet & Warehouse Facility in Northern NJ July 27

Goodwill Industries® of Greater NY and Northern NJ opens its first outlet, ecommerce and warehouse facility in Northern NJ to offer shopping opportunities to help New Jerseyans reduce their carbon footprint and to help the nonprofit organization fund programs to create jobs for people with disabilities and other barriers to employment in the NYC metropolitan region.

Goodwill NYNJ Celebrates the 30th Anniversary of the ADA

This year on July 26, Goodwill Industries of Greater NY and Northern NJ (Goodwill NYNJ) marks the 30th anniversary of the signing of the American’s with Disabilities Act (ADA). This law prohibits discrimination against people with disabilities in employment, education, and public accommodations.

Goodwill NYNJ appoints 3 new members to its Board of Directors

New York, NY – July 20, 2020 –Goodwill® Industries of Greater New York and Northern New Jersey Inc. has named Beth Stankard, Douglas A. Hand, and William J. Staples to its Board of Directors(BOD) during the second half of its fiscal year ending on June 30, 2020. Stankard was elected to the organization’s BOD during the Feb. 13, 2020 Board meeting. Hand and Staples were elected during the final BOD meeting for fiscal year 2019 on June 25.

Goodwill NYNJ program helps NYCHA residents find employment

Goodwill Industries of Greater NY and Northern NJ, Inc. (Goodwill NYNJ) has continued to place people in employment during the Covid-19 pandemic. One of its 46 programs in the New York City metropolitan region, Jobs-Plus in The Bronx has placed more than 20 NYCHA residents in Covid-19 related positions like warehousing, maintenance, Healthcare and Security.

Goodwill NYNJ joins 80 organizations to develop recovery plan in response to COVID-19

In response to the growing unemployment and small business collapse in New York City as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, Goodwill Industries of Greater NY and Northern NJ, Inc. (Goodwill NYNJ) joined over 80 leaders from the private and human services sectors to partnered as the NY Workforce Recovery Strategy Group to develop a recovery plan centered on small businesses and workforce development for displaced workers and marginalized communities.

It's Good To Be Back!

Starting June 15th 2020, Goodwill NYNJ started our phased reopening of our store fleet. Stores will reopen with enhanced safety guidelines for shoppers, donors and employees including social distancing in stores, required face covering, one way shopping in aisles and contactless donations.
