Goodwill NYNJ celebrates Direct Support Professionals Week

Goodwill NYNJ marked National Direct Support Professional(DSP) Week September 12-18, 2021 to recognize the dedicated, innovative professionals who every day provide supports to ensure that people with disabilities have every opportunity to live a fulfilling life. At Goodwill NYNJ, DSPs include Job Coaches, Job Developers, Case Managers, and others who drive our mission of empowering individuals with disabilities and other barriers to employment to gain independence through the power of work.

Goodwill NYNJ moves HQ to Brooklyn

Goodwill Industries of Greater NY and Northern NJ (Goodwill NYNJ) will end an important chapter in its history as the nonprofit organization closes its Astoria headquarters and moves to a new facility in downtown Brooklyn. Effective May 1, 2021, the official address of Goodwill NYNJ will be 25 Elm Place, 3rd Floor, Brooklyn, NY 11201.

New Bridge To Technology pilot program will prepare New Yorkers for advanced technology training programs

Goodwill NYNJ and Per Scholas Launch Bridge Pathway Pilot on Jan. 19, 2021 Goodwill Industries® of Greater NY and Northern NJ receives $1 million from NYC Council and $300,000 from BNY Mellon to operate a bridge pathway pilot in partnership with Per Scholas to teach the skills required for advanced technology training programs and to connect to in-demand tech jobs.

Goodwill NYNJ receives $100,000 grant from Pinkerton Foundation to upskill security workers

Goodwill NYNJ has received a $100,000 grant from the Pinkerton Foundation to upskill 40 individuals per year who have gained security jobs through our Career Services Youth Pathways program (YouthPathways) and are looking to advance their careers. Thanks to this grant, Goodwill NYNJ will provide on-site training and exam preparation so they can obtain advanced certifications and higher wages. This new program launched on Nov. 1, 2020.
