Goodwill NYNJ receives $100,000 grant from Pinkerton Foundation to upskill security workers

Goodwill NYNJ has received a $100,000 grant from the Pinkerton Foundation to upskill 40 individuals per year who have gained security jobs through our Career Services Youth Pathways program (YouthPathways) and are looking to advance their careers. Thanks to this grant, Goodwill NYNJ will provide on-site training and exam preparation so they can obtain advanced certifications and higher wages. This new program launched on Nov. 1, 2020.

Goodwill NYNJ Names Alicia McGrath Executive Vice President, Mission

New York, NY – Goodwill Industries® of Greater New York and Northern New Jersey, Inc. is pleased to announce that Alicia McGrath has joined the agency as Executive Vice President of Mission, effective September 14, 2020. Ms. McGrath was previously Executive Director for Bethany House and is a senior level non-profit executive with over twenty-five years of experience in leadership positions with specific expertise in the field of Social Services.

Goodwill NYNJ appoints 3 new members to its Board of Directors

New York, NY – July 20, 2020 –Goodwill® Industries of Greater New York and Northern New Jersey Inc. has named Beth Stankard, Douglas A. Hand, and William J. Staples to its Board of Directors(BOD) during the second half of its fiscal year ending on June 30, 2020. Stankard was elected to the organization’s BOD during the Feb. 13, 2020 Board meeting. Hand and Staples were elected during the final BOD meeting for fiscal year 2019 on June 25.

Goodwill NYNJ joins 80 organizations to develop recovery plan in response to COVID-19

In response to the growing unemployment and small business collapse in New York City as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, Goodwill Industries of Greater NY and Northern NJ, Inc. (Goodwill NYNJ) joined over 80 leaders from the private and human services sectors to partnered as the NY Workforce Recovery Strategy Group to develop a recovery plan centered on small businesses and workforce development for displaced workers and marginalized communities.
