Web Accessibility Policy

Goodwill Industries of Greater New York and Northern NJ, Inc. has designed and monitors this website to ensure that it meets current web accessibility standards in use.

W3C Web Content Accessibility Guidelines

Our website was designed to incorporate the World Wide Web Consortium’s (“W3C”) Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (“WCAG”) at the WCAG’s Conformance Level A, as set by the W3C’s Web Accessibility Initiative. This site is designed to address all Priority 1 WCAG checkpoints for accessibility.  More information on the W3C’s Accessibility Initiative is available at http://www.w3.org/tr/wai-webcontent.

Rehabilitation Act
Our site is also designed to be compliant with Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, as amended and codified at 29 U.S.C. 794 and 794d, which requires that electronic and information technology (including web sites) of federal agencies be accessible to people will disabilities. For further details on what Section 508 specifies, see the U.S. Department of Education’s pamphlet “Requirements For Accessible Electronic and Information Technology Design,” available at http://www2.ed.gov/fund/contract/apply/clibrary/software.html, and additional questions and answers about Section 508’s requirements can be found at https://www.access-board.gov/sec508.  If you have further questions, about Section 508 standards, you mail email  508@access-board.gov
