Round Up for Hurricane Harvey Relief
We need your help. Hurricane Harvey has affected over 13 million people in Texas, including employees of the local Goodwills. Goodwill NYNJ has joined the 162 members of the Goodwill Industries International family in this relief effort.
Right now, people in Texas are putting their lives back together. You can help Goodwill employees there by rounding up your cents to the nearest dollar when you shop in store. Starting Monday September 18, your Round Up cents raised will be used to support employees from Goodwill stores in Texas affected by Hurricane Harvey.
All your donations from 9/18 through 10/13 will go to relief efforts.
What Are We Asking You to Do?
Cashiers in our 40+ retail locations will ask you to round up your purchase to the nearest dollar to support Goodwill and our mission and/or to support the current special campaign. You can also make a cash donation of any amount, just by letting your cashier know. Be sure to remember your receipt – all donations (including financial ones) are tax deductible. The receipt you receive at the cash register will serve as your donation receipt.
For questions, comments, or concerns please e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org, or call 718-777-6418.
This May through June, Goodwill NYNJ is helping to raise awareness for mental health! Did you know that 1 in 5 Americans is affected by mental illness? Well, when we know better, we do better, and every cent donated helps us operate programs that empower individuals with mental illness. When you “Round Up” your purchases to the nearest whole dollar you are a part of national efforts to support Mental Health Awareness!
This February – March 2017 GoodwillNYNJ took a stand to protect our environment! As a social enterprise, we diverted 128 million pounds of usable goods out of landfills in 2016 and we are working to keep millions more out of landfills in 2017. On Earth Day, 4/22, we gave away reusable totes to match your love for sustainable fashion. All customers who chose to “Round Up” their purchases to the nearest whole dollar after spending a minimum of $25 were able to snag a free limited edition sustainable shopping tote.
We gave away 4,300 totes in all 40+ GoodwillNYNJ locations.
