Goodwill Holds Thrift Fashion Styling Challenge in Chelsea Boutique

Blogger Patrice Williams, of Looking Fly on a Dime, judges “Ready, Set, Thrift!” event

New York, NY – To get New Yorkers excited about thrift shopping and to show them how to be fashionable at bargain prices, Goodwill Industries of Greater New York and Northern New Jersey collaborated with blogger Patrice J. Williams to hold “Ready, Set, Thrift!”, a thrift fashion challenge event at Goodwill’s Chelsea boutique on Thursday, December 6. Shoppers participated in four challenges: 2 scavenger hunts with a $50 Goodwill gift card for each of the winners, the Best Thrifter and the Recreate a Runway Look challenges get to keep the outfits they put together.

Ms. Williams will lead the panel of four judges that will include a loyal shopper of Goodwill’s Chelsea boutique, and Caitlin Weiss, who informs shoppers about fashion trends and thrift finds via Goodwill’s social media platforms, which include a Facebook page and Twitter. She writes Goodwill’s retail blog A Good Look and Goodwill’s programs and services blog, Where the Goodwill Goes
